MAKAM KAKEK MBAH BOLONG
MAKAM AGUNG PANEMBAHAN IMAM FAQIH NUR SHOLEH

THE GRAND MAUSOLEUM OF PANEMBAHAN IMAM FAQIH NUR SHOLEH
According to records and prevailing opinions among the community, Prince Pekik, more widely known as Mbah Imam Faqih Nur Sholeh, was a figure closely related to prominent religious leaders in East Java. He was the great-great-grandfather of Mbah Bolong of Ampel Surabaya and Sayyid Sulaiman of Mojoagung—two highly respected figures who have been a source of inspiration for many people in practicing religious teachings and living in community.
The location of his final resting place has its own distinctive features that make it easily recognizable while also leaving a unique impression on every visitor. Access to the mausoleum is via an alley located alongside a main road, so motorized vehicles and cars cannot enter the mausoleum area directly and must be parked along the main road. The presence of a river adjacent to the mausoleum is also one of its distinctive characteristics, providing a refreshing and unforgettable natural ambiance. The mausoleum building itself is situated at the very end of the public cemetery, making it a separate focal point yet still part of the entire cemetery complex.
Although access requires a short walk after parking the vehicle, the atmosphere around the mausoleum is truly comfortable, serene, and peaceful. Fresh air from the river and the green scenery surrounding the area make every visitor feel at ease to stay for a long time—whether to pray, meditate, or simply contemplate the meaning of life.
Today, the condition of the Grand Mausoleum of Panembahan Imam Faqih Nur Sholeh shows increasingly positive changes. After the mausoleum area was equipped with sturdy and neat fencing, the security and integrity of the area have been better maintained. Moreover, the cleaning staff assigned there never cease to carry out their duties with full dedication. They regularly clean every corner of the area, maintain the cleanliness of the gardens and access paths, and care for the plants so that the surroundings of the mausoleum always remain clean, green, and serene.
With these improved conditions, visitors can pray and turn to the Creator with greater peace and tranquility. What was once only known as a burial site has now transformed into a place that not only honors the history and the figure laid to rest here but also provides spiritual comfort for all who come seeking peace of heart and mind. The Grand Mausoleum of Panembahan Imam Faqih Nur Sholeh is not only a silent witness to the historical journey and lineage of great religious leaders in East Java but also clear evidence that efforts to preserve and maintain cultural and spiritual heritage can bring tremendous benefits to present and future generations. May the peaceful and clean atmosphere here continue to be maintained, so that this mausoleum remains a worthy place to visit and a source of blessings for all its visitors

SYAIKH SAIFULLAH KEDIRI. WALI SEBELUM WALI SONGO

SYEKH SAIFULLOH: A FIGURE FILLED WITH STORIES AND AN INSPIRING PRESENCE
Sheikh Saifulloh is a figure who attracts the attention of many people, both because of the meaningful presence of his grave and the various perceptions surrounding his identity. Several views circulate among the community about this figure, each presenting a different perspective on who he truly was.
The first view states that Sheikh Saifulloh was a waliyulloh (Islamic saint) from West Java. His grave is located in a place with unique access – it is entered through an alley from the main road, with a fairly narrow path that can only accommodate one car at a time with no room to turn around. Before reaching the small bridge leading to the cemetery area, there is a spacious plot of land that can be used as a vehicle parking area. The grave itself is situated within a well-maintained public cemetery. Supporting facilities are available around the grave area, such as a mushola (small prayer room) for worship, restrooms, and a well whose water is believed by many to be "barokah" (blessed water). The grave’s surroundings are clean and comfortable, with a cool and shady atmosphere that makes this place a choice for many people to spend a long time praying and reflecting.
The second view explains that information about Sheikh Saifulloh’s identity is mostly sourced from oral stories that have been passed down from one generation to the next. There are not many written records that can explain his background, life, or struggles in detail, so many aspects of his figure remain a mystery and are only known through folk tales circulating among the local community.
The third view states that Sheikh Saifulloh was one of the Islamic religious preachers in the Kediri region. He is believed to have been active in spreading Islamic teachings in that area, becoming part of the efforts to strengthen the faith foundation of the Muslim community there.
In addition to these three views, some local residents also recount that Sheikh Saifulloh was one of the wali (Islamic saints) who existed before the era of the Wali Songo (Nine Saints of Java). If this story is true, then he was a figure who played an important role in the development of Islam in Java before the arrival of the saints who are more widely known by the general public

Prayer on the mountain is conditional: Perform wudu if water is available (e.g., at a campsite near a river). BATU SINGA SUMBING VS BATU SINGA LAIN NYA

SHISHI-IWA (LION ROCK) IN KUMANO, JAPAN: AN EXTREMELY REALISTIC ROCK FORMATION
While Indonesia’s Batu Singa Sumbing is known as the "standing guard lion" with an abstract and majestic impression, Shishi-iwa located in the Kumano region of Japan is often referred to as one of the world’s most realistic rock formations due to its amazing details. The question is, why does Shishi-iwa come closer to the shape of a "real lion" compared to many other similar rock formations?
Highly Detailed Facial Features
When viewed from a certain angle, Shishi-iwa displays a lion’s facial structure with remarkable clarity. Its mouth is wide open as if roaring, with distinct contours separating the upper and lower jaws. The nose and eye sockets are also easily recognizable, giving the impression of a truly living lion keeping watch over its surroundings.
Manes That Resemble the Real Thing
The natural rock texture of Shishi-iwa forms a rough pattern that closely resembles the fur of a male lion’s mane. Unlike other rock formations that only have a general shape similar to a mane, this part of Shishi-iwa has textural details that make it look more authentic.
Lifelike Expression and Posture
In contrast to Batu Singa Sumbing, which gives a calm and still impression, Shishi-iwa appears to have a "dynamic expression" with its posture as if roaring toward the sea. The overall shape of the rock also gives the impression that it is ready to move, rather than just being a static form that only generally resembles a lion.
SO, WHERE IS BATU SINGA SUMBING LOCATED?
Although Shishi-iwa in Kumano, Japan, is known for its highly detailed and realistic shape, Batu Singa Sumbing still holds a special place as one of nature’s wonders with its own unique charm. Its strengths lie in two main factors that make it equally amazing.
An Almost Unreachable Location
Unlike Shishi-iwa, which is situated on the coast and easily accessible to visitors, Batu Singa Sumbing is located at an altitude of approximately 3,300 meters above sea level, right on the edge of the active Mount Sumbing crater in Central Java, Indonesia. Logically, it is very difficult to imagine that nature could form such a distinct lion-like "sculpture" in an extreme place like this. The harsh environmental conditions, with cold temperatures and volcanic activity in the vicinity, make the existence of this rock formation an even greater mystery and extraordinary wonder.
Awe-Inspiring Scale and Grandeur
Standing directly in front of Batu Singa Sumbing provides a far greater "wow" sensation than viewing Shishi-iwa. The backdrop framing this rock formation is not just an ordinary sea view, but a vast sea of clouds and a colorful sulfur crater. The combination of the lion-like rock shape standing guard and the stunning surrounding natural scenery creates an unforgettable visual and emotional experience
